About Sadr Star

Sadr Star (Sadriddin Mukhiddinov) is an artist with a deep life history and mature artistic vision. Born in 1952, he grew up and formed as a person in Kazakhstan, and then lived and worked in Uzbekistan, in Tashkent. Since 2014, he has lived and worked in the USA: first in New York, then in North Carolina.

He is a member of the North Carolina Museum of Art and the Creative Union of Artists of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Sadr Star's path to art was not straightforward. His early artistic awakening began in childhood with a gift from his mother, who, despite difficult living conditions, managed to recognize and support her son's talent. This gesture became not only his first encounter with painting but also the foundation of the inner discipline and respect for work that later manifested themselves in his artistic language.

After receiving an engineering education and working as a designer at a large machine-building enterprise, he simultaneously developed his artistic thinking, collaborating with professional artists. In 1977, his installation "Peace on Earth" was awarded second place at a regional exhibition, which was the first public recognition of his artistic potential.

Later, after receiving an economic education, the following decades of his life were devoted to leadership and management work in state and financial structures. This experience shaped the artist's precise sense of composition, space, and structure – qualities that are felt today in his painting as the inner architecture of the canvas.

After retirement and moving to the USA, Sadr Star returned to painting as a conscious necessity. The loss of his beloved wife became a profound personal tragedy and at the same time a turning point, after which art became not just a hobby, but a way of inner recovery and dialogue with the world, reflecting on the canvases the beauty created by the Great Creator.

Today, the artist works with oil painting and watercolor, preferring classical techniques and plein air work. His paintings are reflections on light, silence, and presence. There are no random gestures in them: every brushstroke is the result of lived experience, observation, and gratitude for life.

"I will be happy if my paintings adorn your space and bring you joy, tranquility, and light," says the artist.

Sadr Star’s work speaks to collectors who value authenticity over spectacle. His paintings are created by an artist who arrived at art through life itself — through responsibility, loss, and renewal.
Each piece carries a sense of quiet confidence and emotional honesty. To collect a work by Sadr Star is to invite a space of calm, reflection, and inner balance into one’s environment — a lasting presence rather than a passing impression.
