About Sadr Star

An elderly man with gray hair and a beard, wearing a black suit jacket, white shirt, and red tie, sitting at a desk with a silver MacBook laptop, a few books, and a notebook, with a colorful mountain landscape painting in the background.

Sadr Star (Sadriddin Mukhiddinov) is an artist with a deep life history and mature artistic vision. Born in 1952, he grew up and formed as a person in Kazakhstan, and then lived and worked in Uzbekistan, in Tashkent. Since 2014, he has lived and worked in the USA: first in New York, then in North Carolina.

He is a member of the North Carolina Museum of Art and the Creative Union of Artists of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Sadr Star's path to art was not an easy one. His early artistic awakening began in early childhood with a wonderful gift from his mother, who, despite difficult living conditions, recognized and supported her son's talent. This small set of watercolors in a beautiful, transparent case became not only his first encounter with painting but also the foundation of an inner discipline and respect for work that would later manifest in his artistic expression.

After receiving a higher education in engineering and working as a designer at a large mechanical engineering company, he simultaneously developed his artistic thinking by collaborating with professional artists. In 1977, his installation "Peace on Earth" won second place at a regional exhibition, marking the first public recognition of his artistic potential.

Later, having earned a degree in economics, the following decades of his life were devoted to leadership and management work in local and then state financial and educational institutions. This period temporarily removed him from the opportunity to directly pursue his artistic creativity. But the years shaped the artist's precise sense of composition, space, and structure—qualities that are felt today in his paintings as the inner architecture of the canvas.

After retiring and moving to the United States, Sadr Star returned to painting as a conscious necessity. The loss of his beloved wife was a profound personal tragedy and simultaneously a turning point, after which art ceased to be just a hobby but became a means of inner restoration and dialogue with the world, reflecting on canvas the beauty created by the Great Creator.

Source of Inspiration

“Now, my journey as an artist began with a simple yet profound desire—to capture on canvas small reflections of the boundless beauty that surrounds us: the beauty of nature on Earth and the mysterious immensity of the Universe created by the Almighty Creator.

As artists, we cannot compare our abilities to the perfection of the Great Creator's creation. We can only humbly follow in the footsteps of His divine art and seek His guidance and inspiration in our creative endeavors.

On this path, we also learn from those who came before us—the great masters of painting, both ancient and modern. Their wisdom and artistic achievements are preserved in museums and galleries, where this living treasure of art continues to inspire new generations.

Standing before these masterpieces, I always feel deep admiration and reflection. Each visit enriches my vision, strengthens my skills, and renews my inspiration to continue the endless journey of creativity.

I will be happy if my paintings adorn your space and bring you joy, tranquility, and light,” says Sadr Star.

Sadr Star’s work speaks to collectors who value authenticity over spectacle. His paintings are created by an artist who arrived at art through life itself — through responsibility, loss, and renewal.
Each piece carries a sense of quiet confidence and emotional honesty. To collect a work by Sadr Star is to invite a space of calm, reflection, and inner balance into one’s environment — a lasting presence rather than a passing impression.
